Transportation

Istanbul has two main airports. The Atatürk airport is on the European side of Istanbul where the conference will take place. It is much closer to the city center than the Sabiha Gökcen airport which is on the Asian side.

Daily shuttle buses will be available to transport conference participants from the city center (Findliki Tram Stop, corner of Mebusan Yks Meclis/Mebusan Cd.) and the Victory Hotel (Sultanahmet, https://www.victoryhotelistanbul.com) to the conference venue (Fatih University Campus). Busses will leave these sites downtown at 8:30 in the morning and will bring the participants to the conference dinners after the afternoon sessions. The shuttle bus service is provided to the conference participants free of charge. In case if you miss the shuttle or want to join the conference later, you can find information on transportation to and from Fatih University below.

Fatih University Büyükçekmece Campus is located in the Akçaburgaz area on the Hadımköy road. It is around 38km from Istanbul's city center (Taksim). Transportation to the campus is possible through İETT, private buses, minibuses, cabs and private cars.

From Taksim to Campus

  • By Taxi it takes 40-60 minutes, the cost for one way is around 80 TL/35Euro
  • By Public Transportation it takes approx. 90 minutes.
o Option 1: From Taksim take the T-145 bus which leaves approximately every 15 minutes to a stop opposite to Marmara Park mall. Keep an eye out for the Bauhaus store and get out there. From there you can take local buses. Either the blue “418 Hadımköy” or the green HT18. These go directly to Fatih Üniversity.
o Option 2: From Taksim take the metro two stops to Mecidiyeköy. Here there are two options:
    a) The best option is to take the E-60 İETT buses operating on the Mimar Sinan-Büyükçekmece-Mecidiyeköy line. However, these busses don’t run very often. For the details: https://www.iett.gov.tr/tr/main/hatArama/hatsaatleri/E-60_MİMAR-SİNAN---B.ÇEKMECE---MECİDİYEKÖY-İETT-Otobüs-Sefer-Saatleri
    b) Second best is the “Metrobus” to the Metrobus station called Hadımköy. From there you can take local buses. Either the blue “418 Hadımköy” or the green HT18. These go directly to Fatih Üniversity.

From Sultanahmet to Campus

  • By Taxi: the cost is around 70 TL/30Euro
  • By Public Transportation:
From the closest tram stop (Sultanahmet) take the tram to go to Cevizlibağ. The direction you go to will be Zeytinburnu (not Kabatas or Eminonu). At the Cevizlibağ station switch to the “Metrobus” which is a different form of public transportation. Take the Metrobus to the Metrobus station called Hadımköy. From there you take local buses. Either the blue “418 Hadımköy” or the green HT18. These go directly to Fatih Üniversity.
